Masala Mix

I have been quite busy these days that I hardly have time to visit any blog. Yesterday I looked at my blog and I was quite shocked to see the number of posts for this month.

I don’t know what kept me so busy to neglect my blog so much. Well, one thing is work, second got to be..ummm..movies and third the internet. Besides this, I guess it is the excitement of going home for Christmas that made me neglect my blog or any other blog. However, I am still quite active in
Lawrkawm and Buannel

To my surprise, I really love working here..I love the work and I simply love working here. The only thing I hate here is the infamous transport. Besides my issues with them, I hate the amount of time I spent on the cab. Like most of BPOs agent, I listened to radio a lot. Yes, in cab we hardly listened to English songs; it’s Hindi songs all the way. If an English song comes up, whoever sits in front will immediately change the station. And the only time you have the chance to listen to English number is when Akon, Shakira and Blue are played. I am not exaggerating here but it is. I remember the time while I was still in IBM. There was this new joinee. We boarded the cab and the driver was I think a Nepali or a non-north Indian. I was enjoying the songs played in the radio, old English numbers. Then this new guy who was sitting in front suddenly changed the station. I was so pissed off but didn’t say a thing. But the most amazing thing happened; the driver changed the station back to the one I was listening to, without saying a word. I couldn’t help but smile all the way all the way.

Listening to radio everyday sure makes you aware of the different stations. Like some station’s theme:

Number vaaaannnnnn

Radio One, Radio One, FM 94.3

Then there is this not so beautiful one – 92.7 FM something like that, I don’t remember.

My favorite one is:

Red FM, Red FM, 93.5

I love the tune and the music.

I have been watching Heroes these days and I really really love the it. I dream, sleep and eat Heroes. My mind is filled with Peter Petrelli, Sylar, Hiro Nakamura, Nathan, Dr. Suresh, “Frying man” (Flying man), “You are a virrain (villain)”, “Save the cheerleader, save the world” and more. And Peter Petrelli had become so hot in the season 2. What’s so sexy about Peter in the second season is his new found confidence and yes, of course, his power.

I asked my roommates, ‘’If you can have the power, whose will you choose?” and like kids, we were choosing whose power we want, lolzzz and when the tree of us are beyond our 25 yrs.
Anyway, my one question in Heroes is how Sylar flew. Sylar have his power by killing that person and took their power. But Sylar flew once, remember? When the FBI (the girl) and Parkman ran after him.
I come in peace

Christmas is so near and I can’t believe that I will be leaving for home day after tomorrow. This is like a dream, gosh, can’t wait to go home. I have been longing to be with my family during Christmas and I am going to this year, by God’s grace. And yes, I will be meeting someone, eh!

And last but not the leaset, here's a new picture a
friend send me the other day :)

..and I'll be home for Christmas :)

Never missed a game

I received this in my email the other day and I was really touched. Just want to share it out here for whoever comes across.

Bob Richards, the former pole-vault champion, shares a moving story about a skinny young boy who loved football with all his heart.

Practice after practice, he eagerly gave everything he had. But being half the size of the other boys, he got absolutely nowhere. At all the games, this hopeful athlete sat on the bench and hardly ever played.

This teenager lived alone with his father, and the two of them had a very special relationship. Even though the son was always On the bench, his father was always in the stands cheering. He never missed a game. This young man was still the smallest of the class when he entered high school. But his father continued to encourage him but also made it very clear that he did not have to play football if he didn’t want to.

But the young man loved football and decided to hang in there. He was determined to try his best at every practice, and perhaps he’d get to play when he became a senior. All through high school he never missed a practice or a game but remained a bench-warmer all four years. His faithful father was always in the stands, always with words of encouragement for him. When the young man went to college, he decided to try out for the football team as a “walk-on.” Everyone was sure he could never make the cut, but he did.

The coach admitted that he kept him on the roster because he always puts his heart and soul to every practice, and at the same time, provided the other members with the spirit and hustle they badly needed. The news that he had survived the cut thrilled him so much that he rushed to the nearest phone and called his father. His father shared his excitement and was sent season tickets for all the college games. This persistent young athlete never missed practice during his four years at college, but he never got to play in a game.

It was the end of his senior football season, and as he trotted onto the practice field shortly before the big playoff game, the coach met him with a telegram. The young man read the telegram and he became deathly silent. Swallowing hard, he mumbled to the coach, “My father died this morning. Is it all right if I miss practice today?” The coach put his arm gently around his shoulder and said, “Take the rest of the week off, son. And don’t even plan to come back to the game on Saturday.”

Saturday arrived, and the game was not going well. In the third quarter, when the team was ten points behind, a silent young man quietly slipped into the empty locker room and put on his football gear. As he ran onto the sidelines, the coach and his players were astounded to see their faithful teammate back so soon. “Coach, please let me play. I’ve just got to play today,” said the young man. The coach pretended not to hear him. There was no way he wanted his worst player in this close playoff game. But the young man persisted, and finally feeling sorry for the kid, the coach gave in. “All right,” he said.”You can go in.” Before long, the coach, the players and everyone in the stands could not believe their eyes. This little unknown, who had never played before was doing everything right. The opposing team could not stop him. He ran, he passed, blocked, and tackled like a star. His team began to triumph. The score was soon tied. In the closing seconds of the game, this kid intercepted a pass and ran all the way for the winning touchdown. The fans broke loose. His teammates hoisted him onto their shoulders. Such cheering you never heard.

Finally, after the stands had emptied and the team had showered and left the locker room, the coach noticed that this young man was sitting quietly in the corner all alone. The coach came to him and said, ”Kid, I can’t believe it. You were fantastic! Tell me what got into you? How did you do it?”

He looked at the coach, with tears in his eyes, and said, “Well, you knew my dad died, but did you know that my dad was blind?” The young man swallowed hard and forced a smile, “Dad came to all my games, but today was the first time he could see me play, and I wanted to show him I could do it!”

Like the athlete’s father, God is always there cheering for us. He’s always reminding us to go on. He’s even offering us His hand for He knows what is best, and is willing to give us what we need and not simply what we want. GOD has never missed a single game. What a joy to know that life is meaningful if lived for the Highest. Live for HIM for He’s watching us in the game of life!

Good things in life

I've been doing a lot of thinking these days - why do we live?, why is this happening to me? etc etc and then I looked at it the other way. What are the good things in life and so I was able to come up with a few lists

1. Family: Each day I realized how importance of family

2. Having friends to rely on

3. Having friends who will always listen to your crap: Especially when you are down

4. Having a good appetite: I’ve realized how valuable this is after losing my appetite these days; I’ve forced myself to take medicine to have my appetite back

5. Being able to hurt: It hurts but it is a memory

6. Having a sound sleep: After having a very very good sleep today, it makes me feel great

7. Falling in love: Makes a person out of you

8. Earning your bread: This gives you confidence

9. Being able to see: to see beauty of nature, beautiful clothes and of course cute guys, lol

10. Being able to hear

11. Being able to cry

12. Being able to laugh

13. Having roof over your head

14. Putting on warm clothes or cover yourself with blankets to do away with the cold

15. Cell phone, lol..

ChakDe! India

Of late I watched ChakDe! India the other day and I must say that it is a "Must See" movie.

We must have all know what the movie is about so I will not go in depth of the movie. Anyway, it starts with a hockey match between India and Pakistan and Kabir Khan (SRK) was the captain. At the very last moment, India won a penalty but lost. A photographer shot a picture of the Indian Captain, Kabir, congratulating the Pakistan team. That's when the controversial occur, that Kabir sold his team to Pakistan. I wonder that had it been real life, won't it be just a matter of courtesy?

After 7 years, the India Women Hockey team was formed from different states, including Manipur and Mizoram. Yes, this film shows how culturally rich India is. And it shows how the Central Indian (Vai) sees people from North-East, South. I won't be talking about racial slur here 'cos the movie tells it all.

I just want to point out a line that we never see in other Bollywood movies that is a hidden homour.

There was this girl called Komal who called everyone "Didi, Didi" during the match which confused the coaches. The hillariuos part was when the UK Coach made a comment and says

"I am confused; which one is Didi?"

That was priceless. The kind of hidden humour you never find in Hindi movies 'cos in mostly their expression will always tell you that you are supposed to laugh at the particular line. And it was never funny.

Horror Movie Survival

Happy Holloween to all (of late, eh!).

I received this in my email and here are a few of my favorites:

If the house you're living in tells you to "GO AWAY", do so immediately.

Never read aloud from a book that summons demons. Even as a joke.

Don't look under the bed. (loud and clear, lol)

Never believe that your companion has truly become "dispossessed."

If your children speak to you in Latin or any other language which they do not know, or if they speak to you using a voice which is other than their own, shoot them immediately. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. (Note: It will probably take several rounds of gunfire to incapacitate them, so be prepared.)

If demons begin possessing your companions, it's a good idea to leave the area as soon, and as quickly as possible.

If you've just finished running over the maniac/spirit/demon/creature in your car, keep going. Most certainly do not get out of the car under any circumstances to see if he/she/it is "really" dead.

If you're searching for something which caused a noise and find out that it's just the cat, leave the room immediately or else you will quickly die.

If you're running from the maniac/spirit/demon/creature, expect to trip and/or fall down at least twice, more if you are female. Do not turn to look back, if you do, you stand a good chance of tripping immediately and being killed. If you turn and look back, and you don't see the maniac/spirit/demon/creature chasing you, stop and run immediately back the way you came because the maniac/spirit/demon/creature is now in front of you.

If you are alone in a house and something calls your name, leave the house immediately through whatever exit is in the opposite direction. If there is no exit, make one.

Listen closely to the soundtrack for hints on what is going on around you. Use all resources available, especially the audience, for on the average, they are much, much more intelligent than you could ever hope to be.

Things to do

I have listed out things that I really have look into and do:

1. Sleep more: One big reason is that I always dozed off at around 4:30 am and I couldn't help it. As a result, I have to drink lots of coffy to keep me awake..not the best thing in the world.

2. Eat healthy: Not that I eat lots of junks but really need to watch my diet

3. Pray more: I have to admit that I hardly spend time to pray..i'd pray silently while I am in my cab, when I need help but actually hardly give time for prayer only

4. Read Bible regularly: The other day, my site visitor submit a note from my
page and says - I can see that you read your Bible regularly..which put me to shame. So, I really need to watch myself.

5. Cut down on cigarettes: It used to be 3 cigarettes a day, which increased to 1 packet in two days, further increased to 2 packets in 3 days and now 1 packet in a day :(

6. Talk more: Yes, I need to talk more, especially in the office

7. Take walk regularly: Walk at least 30 mins a day, starting today. I have gained lots and lots of weight and I don't feel so great. My last year's pants that I hardly wear 'cos they were a bit too loose now become not just tight but a bit too tight. And my tops....very few that I can wear as I need to hide my bulging tummy, lol

8. Go out: Yes, I need to go oout more and catch up with my friends, or go for a movie. When was the last time I went for a movie?..ummm that would be to see Harry Potter, back in August.

9. Less beer: Tough decision but I must cut down on my beer intake. Makes me fat, put fats on the wrong places etc etc..

10. Spend less time on the internet: And be back to reality. My offs, my free time are now taken away by the internet. Sitting in front of computer, chatting away on the internet..and that is how I spend up my time. I have to take a break and meet up with friends.

The LORD reigns forever

The LORD reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgment.

He will judge the world in righteousness;
he will govern the peoples with justice.

The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.

Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, LORD , have never forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 9:7-10 NIV

_______________

The LORD is King forever and ever;
Nations have perished from His land.

O LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will strengthen their heart,
You will incline Your ear

To vindicate the orphan and the oppressed,
So that man who is of the earth
will no longer cause terror.

Psalm 10:16-18 NASB

_______________

May the glory of the LORD endure forever;
May the LORD rejoice in His works.

He looks on the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the hills, and they smoke.

Psalm 104:31,32 NKJV

_______________

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:15-17 KJV

Glorious, eternal life belongs to those who belong to Him!

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

For you, my friend Johny

My sweet sweet nephew, Isaac

My sweet nephew, Isaac, so funny.

The other day I was talking to him on the phone (while his mother's pregnant with his baby sister)

Me: Isaac, we have a cat, do you want it?

Isaac: Yes, of course

Me: Then let's exchange it with the baby in your mother's womb?

hesitated

Isaac: Why?

Me: Because we want a baby and we don't have any baby

Isaac: Oh..is that because my elder sister and I are so beautiful?

(laughed) Me: Yes, that is the reason

Isaac: Since we are so beautiful..you think that the baby will be beautiful too?

hahahaha

Me: Yes, of course. So, what do you say if we exchange your little sister with our cat?

After thingking for sometime...

Isaac: Is the cat pregnant?

Me: Yes

Isaac: So, if the cat is pregnant, can I keep the litters?

Me: Yes, of course, you can keep them

Isaac (with excitement in his voice): Ok then, the maid and I will come and take the cat tomorrow and you can take the baby as soon as she is born.

There, we got the agreement.

lol

God Gives Us Wisdom
For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.

who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to him.

God Loves You!

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Bible verse

Pray... Pray... Pray!

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Be cheerful no matter what;

pray all the time;

thank God no matter what happens.

This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 MSG

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:15-16 NKJV

____________

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men
always ought to pray and not lose heart,

He said, "The things which are impossible
with men are possible with God."

We need a Savior because we are sinners,
and the wages of sin is death...

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift:
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God is the object of
our faith; the only faith that saves is faith in Him.

Mail vrs Email

I was writing a mail to a friend the other day when this guest of ours asked me

"Bte, are you writing a letter?"

Me (laughing): "Yes, I am. Isn't it funny? We are living in a computer world and I am writing a letter." and I laughed it off.

Then he said, with somehow a serious tone, "No, its not funny. In fact I love letters, it is priceless. Nothing will replace mails. It is so precious".

Me: "Hey, you know, you are right. It is priceless and I love receiving them. It is to be cherished".

May be I am a sentimental person. I remember when I read 'Firestarter' by Stephen King several years ago, the girl, the Firestarter burnt down a couple's house when the lady cried to her husband and said "I do not care about the furnitures but I lost all the love letters that you have written to me while you were in the army." I can feel her pain (though only a book, lol).

Yes, mails - all you have to do is take out the mail when you feel lonely, feel the sender's presence.

No problem is there is a power cut for 24/7, you can still read them.

They will never be deleted from the servers, in case you neglect to check your emails for months.

Free from virus or hackers or whatever there is in the internet world.

Well, that's a personal opinion :)

Just to make myself clearer, let me quote out lines from the song 'Love Letters' by Diana Krall -

Love letters straight from your heart
Keep us so near while we're apart
I'm not alone in the night
When I can have all the love you write

I memorize every line
I kiss the name that you sign
And darling, then I read again
Right from the start
Love letters straight from your heart

Isn't it strange?

I was browing my old emails and found this in my inbox:

"Isn't it strange ?"

Isn't it strange how Rs. 20/- seems like such a large
amount when
you donate it to temple, but
such a small amount
when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours
seem so long when
you're at place of worship, and how
short they seem when you're
watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't
find a word to say when
you're praying,
but you have no trouble
thinking what to talk about
with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult
and boring it is to read
one chapter of
the Bible/ Quran / Gita, but how easy
it is to read 100 pages of
a popular novel?

Isn't it strange how everyone
wants front-row-tickets
to concerts or
games, but they do whatever
is possible to sit at the last
row in a holy place?

Isn't it strange how we need to
know about an event for
temple 2-3
weeks before the day so we can
include it in our agenda, but we can
adjust it for other events in
the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it
is to learn a fact about
God to share it
with others, but how easy
it is to learn, understand,
extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we
believe everything
that magazines and newspapers
say, but we question the words in the
Bible and other holy books?

Isn't it strange how everyone
wants a place in
heaven, but they don't want
to believe, do, or say anything
to get there?

IT'S STRANGE ISN'T IT?

Time for Bible verse :)

Be Joyful

Be joyful always;

Pray continually;

Give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

______________

Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I will say, rejoice!

Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known to God.

Philippians 4:4-6 NASB

Call upon me in the day of trouble

God our Creator Hears and Answers Prayer
Call upon me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you,
and you will honor me."

Psalm 50:15 NIV

______________

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him,
and shew him my salvation.

At home

I finally got the energy to update my blog, eh! Ok, I finally put my laziness aside and update my blog. My apologies to the visitors :).

So, I decided to fill you all up with what happened back home, my home sweet home.

Where shall I start???, Let me start from when I landed at the airport.

I was happy to see my mother at the airport. I kept on sending smss from Kol airport, reminding her of my flight and there she was, waiting for me :), thanks Mom, though I never told you how happy I was to see your face that day.

the best thing about going hoem this time was that no one pressured me to get married...no talk about my marriage, for a change..surprising, whew.

So, everyone noticed that I've gained weight.

"Bte, you've gained weight and you look better. Don't lose weight"

Though I never know if that was a genuine comment or not but I guess its better than to hear "You've gained weight, you look terrible, you need to lose weight"..cos thats the comment I usually get, lol.

Friends stopped by..which was great, I really missed them a lot..more than I thought. I realized how important they are in my life :). I always feel fortunate to have them.

I used to be in shorts, real shorts. So, I wore this shortd one evening and when my aunt sees me, she said,

"Dear, your shorts are too short. Though you used to wear them where you are, its too short for here"

Whew..got no other choice but to change, lolzzzzz.

I ate lots, yes, with all the best stuffs, how can anyone resists. I had corn, Mizo corn, best corn in the world..with its chewy taste *slurp* and the bamboo shoots, the vegetables, etc etc. However, I was unable to have the best chow in the world (hee hee), which is at Buannel. Sad that they have shifted and I do not know where the new loc is.

I had a dinner at my friend's place and I just have to talk about their cat. I have mentioned earlier in my blog how I hated cats and this cat proved how hateful they are..hahahaha.

I was preparing beef and this cat comes to me, seems to be asking for not only a piece but a handfull of beef..as if I am going to give him or her. Then I send him away and this cat makes sound like a child who is angry..gosh, how I hated him or her..

A dinner at one of my friends' was great..a simple dinner, as always - eggs, potato, bean leaves, chillies, dal and that makes a good feast.

My only complaint was the rain and the clouds..too much of everything is sometimes hard to bear.

All in all, the holiday was great and beautiful.

Me and my new company

Its been quite long since I visited and update my blog. This is my first for this month and could be the only one too.

I finally left my company and joined a new one. I have been going under training and so I hardly have time to access computer. I finally left my previous company on 8th of this month and joined this company on 7th. The name of my new company is Hero Ites. Unlike me, I might not stay for longe here..hee hee..but then if I like the process I am in, I might stay for a very long time. Let's see what the future has in store for me.

For the past one and half week, we had Voice and accent training...funny sometimes....the trainer makes you stretcjed your mouth and it goes on like...

UUU, OOO, AAA, AH, Ta, Tha...etc etc.

Overall, the training was great and I had a lot of fun.

The only thing I am sad about is that I am separated from my friends as I am in a different process. I am a bit saddened by this. To make the matter worse, I am with a bunch of jerks (hahahahahaha). They are a bit hard to cope with; no self decipline, no decency in them, and I am yet to go another one whole training with them. Lets see how they turned out to be in the process training. I hope I could find some sense in their silly talks and their unnecessary laughter.

Back!!!!!

After a very very long time, I am able to blog again..wow (hee hee). I thought I would never be able to blog here again, after my source was blocked. However, I accessed the proxy that I used out of bordom...halleluiahhhh, the site load...whew. All other proxies are unable to let me sign in.

Since I was unable to blog here for a very long time, I started to blog in
Facebook but just one entry so far.

Since finding out that I am able to blog again, I don't know what to blog about today, lol.

Will update as regularly as possible.

5 tips to keep memory sharp

I've come across this in Yahoo! Health and thought of sharing it here.

1. Get an uninterrupted eight hours of sleep each night.

- Since I go to office at night, I have to sleep during day. But I guess it could be referred as my night. No way I sleep for eight hours for I don't know how long, I am thankful if I sleep for 5 hrs.

2. Do a half an hour of cardiovascular exercise every day, such as brisk walking, slow jogging, biking, or swimming. This will improve circulation and increase blood flow to the brain.

- Walking; this I do almost everyday

3. Turn yourself upside down for a couple of minutes daily.

- Impossible *grin*

4. Mental fitness activities are imperative to prevent age-related cognitive decline. Read and learn new things, find new hobbies, do crossword puzzles, add up your bill in your head while shopping, memorize a set of phone numbers forward and backwards; all these can stimulate brain cell activities and in some cases even grow new brain pathways.

-
New hobbies, hmmm. Did some adding in my head. Memorize phone numbers? My phone number and my house number are the only numbers that I memorized.

5. Work with your physician to find a supplemental regimen that helps improve your cognitive capabilities. Memory-enhancing supplements and herbs include B-complex vitamins, magnesium, CoQ10, alpha-lipoic acid, fish oil, flax seed oil, Chinese club moss, ginkgo, and ginseng. A supplement that has been well-documented in Europe for reversing age-related dementia and memory loss is phosphatidylserine (PS), a compound made by the body from the amino acid serine. Taken in supplement form, PS lowers stress response and promotes the release of neurotransmitters in the brain that facilitate thought, reasoning, and concentration.

- Will have to see about this.

Eternal God

Your word, O LORD, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens.
Your faithfulness continues
through all generations;
you established the earth,

Your laws endure to this day,
for all things serve you.

Quick update

* Been sleeping very badly the past week. No matter what time I go to bed, I tossed and turned at least for 2 to 3 hrs before falling asleep :(

* Taken the habit of drinking Carrot Juice *grin*. It tastes great and I sometime doubt if it is really healthy cos all health drinks never taste good, lol.

The ingredients:

- Nth number of carrots
- Pudina
- Beet root (1)
- Tomato (2)
- Handful of gooseberry, minus the seed
- Lime
- Salt

* Went out for house-hunting on Sunday and it was quite tiring..really hope to find a good house with a good location on time. One funny incident with one of the dealers:

We: We need two rooms flat

Dealer: Do you take non-veg?

We: Yes

Dealer: I know one flat but the landlord might not accept you if you are non veg

We: Ugh..we don't want it, then

Dealer: I will talk to him and if he is willing let a non-veg rent it, then you can take the house. I will let you know tomorrow (which is Monday)

We: How about the location?

Dealer: Location is good, its just opposite to that Heho Honda showroom

We: Alright

Gave him my number. Since I haven't heard from him till today, I guess no agreement.

* We happened to come across some T-shirt (shake, lol) and I ended up buying 4 tees with one pyjama but really worth it as they are quite cheap. One of the Tees happened to be a Gryfindore's tee, lol

* Work's quite hectic...pile of emails

* Rained today and all the clothes that I hanged out to dry are all wet....no complain, though.

* Delhi climate is so perfect these days. Had it been a summer weather, I will sure be head over heels in love with Delhi

* Due to my sleepless days (well, have to sleep during days due to work *sigh*), could not resume my walk.

* I just love having steamed vegetables these days

* Saw The Last King Of Scotland and it was such a wonderful movie..a must see

* Heard from an old friend whom I saw last almost a decade sent me an SMS out of the blue. It was surely a pleasant surprise :)

* Not seeing Victoria Beckham's pic on site sure feels good

* Saved the best for last: Someone sent me a teaser in Orkut without knowing what it was for (or so he said, hahahahaa). I actually had to look up the help page to know what it meant, lolzzzzz. Had a good laugh after realizing it. LMAO

Three cheers to Opera!!!!!!

Thanks to Opera, I am now able to access sites without using proxy :) ..whew..this is such a relief.

One of the sites that I regularly visited is misual.com and the site is blocked. Beside this is the blogspot. But using proxy, I had no problem accessing them. And I was able to blog using pkblogs.com/blogname Then, recently misual.com had disabled the non-registered comment and I found that I was unable to post any comment. Each time I tried to login, the server timed out. I was quite lost now. Then like an naswered prayer, one of my friends came online and asked him if he had any idea. He is into PHP and since this site uses wordpress, I asked him any workaround/proxy. That was when he suggest the Opera.

Me: Do you know any good proxy that let me signin and put a comment? The site use wordpress but the proxys that I am using will not either let me login or comment. I tried pkproxy.com, proxyfy.com, webwarper.net etc..but almost all the same result. I am lost so you gotta help me

Him: What browser do you use?

Me: Internet Explorer and Mozilla.

Him: Use Opera. With Opera, you need not go through proxy.

Me (with new-found excitement): Wow....great. But I don't have Opera.

Him: You will have to download it. Use Mozilla to download it and change the file destination. Download here at opera.com and save the file to C:\opera

I did as he told me to. But when I tried to access the site, it still does not load.

Me: Its not working

Him: Umm...you might have to make change in the network so as to accept the proxy

Me: O..h... but how will I do that and where do I change the network setting? I've never used Opera before and I am lost here.

Him: I don't have Opera at home and so I cannot look into this.

Me (quite agitated now): But how will I do it? I don't know what proxy to use and where to enter that proxy. You've gotta know. Or download Opera yourself so that you can troubleshoot and tell me.

Or you can try in the office tomorrow. (yeah..thats where the problem is, within the office)

(How will he troubleshoot when the site is not blocked at his end, lol)

Me: Ok, I clicked on Tools > Preferences..

Him: Advanced

Opened the Advanced tab and to my releief, found the Network option there. From there clicked 'Proxy Server'....and I was lost again.

Him: You will have to give the IP and Port number for HTTP.

Gosh...where do I find that...ugh..this has taken so much time. And I tought had they not blocked the site, I won't have to go through all this trouble and will work the whole time.

Finally, the could in my brain cleared and understand where to enter the IP and Port.

Then opened a new blank page and YESSSSSS .... wonderful...its like magic, I was finally able to access the site without any problem. Best of all, no proxy required for blogspot too. Wow..this is so great.

Thank you Opera....thank you.

But I have a slight problem. As you can see, the browser would show a duplicated or shall I say twin of the page. Look at the pic for better understanding-

As you can see, while viewing the other post, the front page shows up on the left side. Now I don't know why that happen and I have no clue. I know I will have to go through the Help page or contact their Customer Care.

Any idea as to why this happen? Is the problem with the browser?

I am still very thankful to Opera :)

Missing them a lot

Pic of my nieces and nephews, all so very sweet. Miss you all a lot

Mawitea:
Sweetest thing about is his love for insects. He is crazy about all type of insects and would even get up early in the morning to watch ants. Plus, he is the man, lol

Sarah:
The love of my life.
Whenever I talked to her on the phone, our conversation that never miss-

Sarah: Anute, when are you coming home? I really miss you.

I know I can't lie to her and at the same time doesn't want to hurt her feelings

Me: Soon, baby, soon
Sarah: How soon?

This is where I have to think of excuses
Me: As soon as I can get the flight ticket

Sarah (with excitement in her voice): Oh, really? Will you be able to get the the ticket today?

Me: Well, darling, I don't know. You see, I have to go to the office to book the ticket and I might have to stand on the queue

Sarah, her spirit a bit down: Oh, you have to stand on the queue. But make sure that you book the ticket as soon as possible.

Me: Yes, sure, my baby. Sure

This is how our conversation usually end.

Ririna:

He is Jerusha's baby, lol and brother of Mawitea. Strange thiang about this boy is that when you tell him a story (he was around 3 yrs), he'd keep mumbling whatever you said. Then after the story ends, ask him the story and he is able to repeat the whole story.

Mahima and Sangtea:
The sweet brothers. I took care of Mahima a lot when he was still an infant. Strange thing is that he was able to recognize my voice when he was just about 5 months old, lol. Even when it was his sleep time and was about to sleep, if he hear my voice, he would open his eyes and look for me, lol.

Sangtea, really really sweet. He sure looked upto his big bro Mahima. To him, his brother is the best

(LtpR- Mawitea, Sarah, Ririna&Pekkimi, Mahima and Sangtea)

If wishes come true

I was reading Archie Comics the other day. The gangs were in the POP's chocklit shop when Jughead looked at the menu from 1950s. Seeing the price, he wished that he was in those time when the others reminded him that life was so hard and allowances were less. Morever, they told him that there were no video games, no tvs etc those days. That was when he no longer wish to be in those days.

Then Moose said, "Yes, we should be careful what we wish for. Like we should wish for a fine and sunny weather like today".

Dilton: If we wish for a fine and sunny weather the whole time, there will be no rain and the sea will dry up and we will all extinct

Jughead: Yeah, most of all, all those who work in raincoat factory will be jobless.

Funny but he got a point here, lol.

Then I tought, what if wishes does come true?

* No school/No education: I am quite sure that once in a while we wished that the shcool would burn down so that you need not go to school. So, if that wished had come true, won't there be a burning school almost everyday? Or fall-down school building? lol. So, if one or more of school building collapse everyday, no one will be able to run a school as he/she will be kept busy reconstructing the building.

* Peace on Earth?: I doubt it. What kind of peace we would ask for? Each person's version of peace might be different. May be another person wish for peace with a little excitement while the other want it to be very calm.

* End of terrorism?: What if the terrorist do now wish an end to terrorism?

* End of poverty: It is obvious that we all want to be rich and we surely will wish for richness but what if the other wish the other to be poorer etc etc

So, how will the world be if wishes come true? What will happen to another person when someone wishes that he could turn back time and erase that particular mistake he had done? Will the world be normal if wishes come true? How will the world be? Won't the people of the world be too busy to live a life and move ahead in life?

So, if wishes does come true, won't we all be wishing that wish don't come true?

Blogspot blocked

Gosh, I am so mad, blogspot in now blocked. Now, when I have to check my blo, I have to use proxy. with the proxy I am using, I am unable to read a comment, give a comment etc not to mention post a new entry. This really sucks.

I have no idea in what right mind make them block the blogspot. Not everyone access it and if they are concerned about the bandwidth..well, they need not worry cos people here dont use blogspot much. If its a bandwidth issue, then they should've block Orkut...everyone accessed it...some remained login during the whole shift.

Gosh...they are making our life from bad to worse...I wonder how harder they are going to make our life out here. for instance, using the metal detactor. Now you would avoid going to the wash room so as to avoid this beeper. C'mon, its so annoying. Ok, I understand that they checked us when we first came in the shift. Now, you go out to drink water, then you will have to be checked. You go to the wash room, you are checked again.....arrggrhhh this is really really annoying and a waste of time. If someone wants to do something bad, I am sure he/she will not have a single problem.

As for this post, I remember the time when the whole ISP blocked blogspot..and Kima bloged about this. So, I send him an sms yesterday asking for that porxy and got a reply from him today. It turned out that he was down with fever....and Halleluiah!!!!! now I am able to blog again :)

Thanks again Kima and hope you to get well soon.

Parties - Then and Now

After reaching home from the office, as usual, I was watching Tv with my cousin/roommate and watched SS (Southern Spice) and watched the songs played there. Since the bandh of all the Star TVs program and English channel, we have no much choice but watch other channels like Hallmark (the only English Channel), Zoom, Zee Music, B4U Music...:(. Recently, we found out that this SS Channel (which we never bothered to check) played English songs from 23:30(?) till...I don't know cos we never stayed up that long to find out when this program ends. All in all, all songs were great, from classic, today's, country, rock, heavy metal, etc..all mixed and best of all, no long ads and not as regularly as other channels.

So, back on the subject - as I was saying, we started chatting and talk about all stuffs...like what happened at work, what she did, some funny experiences with customers, etc. The SS channel gave songs like BSB, Blue etc etc.

Then we started talking about parties.

Earlier days, while we were still really young, from the time we reached our teenage..we too used to have parties. Since there are no disc or pub in Mizoram, almost all parties were house parties. So, whenever a prty is planned, there will be some good number of dance music and slow music was a must, means that there should be slow dance moment after 'The Grind'. Slow dancing was really really important.

So, those days, a party planner or a party 'thrower' would prepare for may be two hours of the 'Grind' numbers and after that the scene or the music should be changed into slow music. That's when lovers danced closed to each other, kissing etc etc, lol. Songs such as These arms will never let your heart break (don't remember th singer but I think it was a boy bad who sang I Swear, not sure though), Do you still? (La Bouche), Till Death do us apart, Right here waiting, I will be your man. Then some years passed and the songs include numbers from BSB, Westlife, etc.

Who was the boy I first danced my slow number with? umm..could't recall his name, lol.

And now the party these days. I hardly see slow numbers played these days. Even at house parties, we no longer play these slow numbers. Even if we do played slow numbers, it was simply meant for relaxation, no one bother to dance in the slo number anymore. In fact, slow dancing was quite romantic :).

Here in Delhi, most parties I go to are disc/pub where slow numbers are a 'No no'. And yes, we do dance together...holding hands or arms all over each other but then musics are of hip hop, club, house etc. No matter how much you want to hold each other close and dance, you need to move to the beat of the music...which is fast, lol. C'mon, you cannot slow-danced in hip hop lest you want to attract all the attention...looking awkward, lol.

Miss those slow-danced days.

Hello God

Chorus:
Hello God, are you out there? Can you hear me, are you listenin' any more?
Hello God, if we're still on speakin' terms Can you help me like before?

I have questioned your existence, My resistance leaves me cold
Can you help me go the distance?
Hello God, hello, hello

Verse 1:

This old world has gone to pieces Can we fix it, is there time?

Hate and violence just increases We're so selfish, cruel and blind
We fight and kill each other In your name, defending you
Do you love some more than others? We're so lost and confused

Chorus:

Hello God, are you out there? Can you hear us, are you listenin' any more?

Hello God, if we're still on speakin' terms Can you help us like before?
Oh, the free will you have given We have made a mockery of
This is no way to be livin', We're in great need of your love Hello God

Chorus:

Hello God, can you grant us Love enough to make amends

(Hello God) Is there still a chance That we could start again
Hello God, we've learned our lesson Dear God, don't let us go More than ever
Hello God, hello, hello Hello God, we really need you We can't make it without you (Hello God) We beseech you In the name of all that's true
Hello God, please forgive us For we know not what we do

Tag:
Hello God, give us one more chance to prove ourselves to you
Hello, God; hello, God

whew...

The past two weeks had been so hectic...could hardly find the time to even breath, lol. Had breathing not the necessity of life and a sign of life, I won't even breath....that's how busy I was, lol...am not exgarrating *GRIN*

I was so busy that I could not even find the time to check my blog...forget about update. I tought that I would update more regularly but that was in vain.

In my last post, I had metioned that there was no wrk for two days and I was happy. Then, Monday was my off and when I went to office on Tuesday, I was horrified to learn that there were 800+ emails. And the reason that there was no work that day was because of bug in the software *sniff*. Since that day...busy..busy..busy

I hate to stay overtime and so I always make sure that I met my target.....but still had to stay for OT. I am not saying that I hate my job but I no longer like it either.

How can I workd best? Well, give me system with sound card installed and a head phone and I will work without complain and might be willing to even stay for over time hee hee..oh..the keyboard must be good too :P

Lots of things happened. Shocked to read about Anna Nicole's death; someone so alive and whom you see on the internet almost everyday..dead..shocking. I am surprised but I am saddened by her death..still so young.

Cinderella..

Scarlett as Cinderella.... Can't help it but I love this picture so much so I decided to upload it here. Got this from Justjared

Love this Prince Philip too :)

Hmmm.....

Its 3:58 am and I am in the office with nothing to do. Since yesterday there are hardly any work...wonder if I handled even 10 case yesterday. As I slept very badly the other day (hardly 2 hrs), I had a very good sleep in the office, lol.

Today too, got nothing much to do...no work as yesterday. I wonder what happen out there..no one got a problem? if so, its such a relief. I slept for may be 3 and half hours today then I got up, had my bath, dressed up and went to Church. And I was betrayed - batrayed by the person with whom I was suppose to meet at the church. I wasn't ealrly and thinking that she might have waited in the Church by that time, fuming red waiting for me...called her up and she was still asleep. Then it was who turned red.

I was still very very sleepy when my alarm woke me up and actually wanted to continue my sleep. Then I tought of this girl whom I was suppose to meet and tought if sending her sms and made a request not to attent the service. When I was about to type the message, a I asked myself -

All I have to do is get up, take bath, dress up and go straight to Church. This is what God wants. If I go back to sleep, I will bring a smile to Satan's face.

My mind was racing..part of me wants to go back to sleep while something tells me that it was the right thing to do go get up and go to Chruch.

Then I thought of this lady. Since we already made a plan attend the service, I don't want to be the one who cancell the plan and ruin the day or plan for her. Besides, I hate it when people cancelled that are pre-planned. Not wanting to be the kind of person I hate, I finally got up. I don't know which urge me more to attend the service today - 'cos its what God wants or not wanting to be the one to back out. So I went ahead.

Yes, I was late. When I reached the Chruch, offerrings were being collected and I had to sit outside. To my relief, there were some more people who came later than me, lol. Sermon was good.

Anyway, I got back..then went to ATM and bought grapes and wai2, lol. At around 20:15, I left for work as my cab came. Reached office, few mails were in the queue...thus hardly any work today.

Nothing much to do for time pass, read blogs, visited sites for an update on Hollywood gossip like
TMZ, Perezhilton , Justjared. In fact, it was from Justjared that I came to know that Angelina lost her mom (God be with them), who died of Ovian cancer at the age of 56. She was beautiful and too young to die. Of all the sites I used to visit, I Justjared was the first one to update news about this. If you want to see the photo, click here.

For time pass, I have played different online games. I really wish that I am able to play some network games such as Destruction. I do not remember the exact name of that game but I really enjoy that network game. I dare not play Age of Emipire anymore as it gave me a server headache. Tonight, I spent my time playing games from
solitary.com. Try it, its quite fun. I am really bored with Orkut but kept on logging in...I guess I am a bit addicted to it...I do not know why I kept on logging in after a few hours.

I will end thsi blog for now..let me try to get some sleep, lol. I know some good foods awaiting at home :)

One

My blog had turned one on 24th Jan. Gosh, hard to believe how time flies. I know I am a bit late but been quite busy with my work lately. Visitors, have a cake, lol.

How do I start this blog? Well, it was Jerusha who kept on pressuring me to create a blog and used to tell her 'I am busy' or 'I am not interested'. Many times I forgot to visit her blog and she'd IMed to to check her blog and kept on asking for the link...that irritated her. So, after sometimes I decided to create one and then born the 'Purplepeopleeater'. After that I did not bother to update it and it was Jerusha again who kept on telling me to update my blog.

She'd say....why don't you update your blog?

Next day..Still no update

Then ....... shame on you for not updating your blog..UPDATE

Then I'd say 'Oh I am busy, will you update it for me?'...gosh she used to be mad at me.

Then I started to take more interest in blogging and actually enjoy it. And now its already 1 year old.

Some thoughts

Here are a few thoughts that flew inside my mind lately-

* Trust people. If they want to cheat you, let them. If cheating you gave that person a satisfaction, then its good for him. If not, its his problem. However, this does not imply to the auto wallahs, lol.

* Do not trust someone (men, espcially) who spen too much time on the internet (except for work), especially if he signed up for some dating sites, communities, etc. Also, do not trust him if he go out too much. In short, do not trust men.

* If only I could find someone to love me unconditionally.

* If we all believe in God, why are there so many religion? And we all have full faith in the religion we followed. Which is the right religion. Will it be fair if a real devotee goes to hell because of the wrong religion he/she followed? Is there a wrong religion?

* Does war really bring peace? Why do many innocent people have to lost their lives so as to bring peace? Will there be peace in this world?

* What does a person need most in the world? Money? Riches? Fame? Family? Love? From my side, I feel that love is important and contentment too.

* Who is the happiest person in this world? The Miller of the Dee?

Quick update

* The chilling weather now become milder

* I finally got 'sikri' from the washerman (thanks again, bhaiya)

* Still staying alone

* All English channels are banned :(..ended up watching B4U Music and Zoom

* The only English channel now is Hallmark...now I actually enjoyed 'Judging Amy' (sob). Gone are the days when Hallmark used to show good movies and only movies..no serial. Those days, Hallmark used to be my favorite channel.

* Never trust anyone (a guy) who spend too much time on the internet and especially if he signed up for some dating site or community or chat log or something like Orkut

* Haven't got the time to look for a new job :( when I wanted to so badly. Wish I could give my interview through phone.

* Went to GK-1 Market the other day to get my ear pierced but ended up buying a new pair of jeans (which I love) minus pierced ear.

* There is one pair of shoes that I really really really love but didn't buy cos I feel that I wont be able to afford it at the moment *sob*

* The SmallBiz had turned 2 today (17th Jan 07) and so small celebration was there

* Makes me realized that I will be completing my 2 yrs with IBM next month

* Seeing some photos taken tonight makes me realized that I really really need to lose weight. Start my evening walk from tomorrow. Means I will have to give up some of my sleeping hours.

Arrggghhh X-(

This person made me real mad. I had been thinking about whether I'd write about him or not and since I have some time to kill, I decided to write about it.

There is this guy, my colleague (ex..I am not sure he still works here or not) who is from Kolkatta. I remember the first time I met him it was in the lift and I was with my other team mate. Then he asked where I was from. And being new, I was very polite towards him and told him where I was from.

Then the next time we happened to meet, whether its in cafeteria, on the way to the parking lod, or whever, he kept on asking me where I was from. Or when I will be going home? (Its none of his damn f***ing business)

He'd go on like..oh Btei, how are you? Where are you from? Manipur? Meghalaya? . Keeping my irritation under control, I managed to say that I was from Mizoram. I cannot recall how many times I have told him that I was from Mizoram. And there were many times when I avoided any converstation with him; I sometimes pretend that I did not see him or hear him.

Then, this incident happened again day before yesrteday.

I was sitting in the cafeteria drinking tea with some chips. And of all the people, he was the one who came into the cafeteria at that time and worst of all, decided to join me.

I was like 'Oh no, not him. Oh god, why him? why? of all the people'.

Then just as I thought, the question goes again

Him: Bte, where are you from? Meghalaya?

Me: Yeah

Him: From Manipur?

Me: Yeah

Had he listened to my answer he should have been confused. I did day 'yes' to both when he asked me if I was from Meghalaya or Manipur. But I guess I should be thankful that he did not listen that I need not tell him again that I was from Mizoram.

Then I looked outside so as to avoid any conversation with him. Then he said

You seem to be in deep thought

Smiled politely

You seemed to be in deep thought. What are you concentrating on?

Another polite smile and simple 'nothing important'

Me: Here, have some chips

He was happy to have the chips.

Him: Bte, when are you going home?

Me: Soon

Him: When is that?

Me: When the time comes (rather in a rude tone now)

Then finally to my relief, my saviours came. They were my other colleagues whom I hardly talked to and dont even know their name (shame on me). But I was happy to see them and was relieved that they decided to join us..whew

Then I got up that too without finishing even half of my chips and went back to work.

If this person had read this, I am sure he won't recognize it was him that I talked about.

Now that I am on the subject, let me jsut metion another person who used to asked me all crazy questions about the North East.

Him: Bte, I've heard that in NE, woman can have as many husband as she wants and its a woman denomant states.

Me: No, thats not true. Due to Christianity, a person is not suppose to have more than one spouse

Him: No, that's not true because I have read about it.

C'mon, I haven't heard of any woman having more than one husband...and he think I was wrong.

The other day, while having dinner-

Him: Btei, how come the NE people eat so much meat?

Me: Cos we love to eat meat

Him: No, there's got to be a reason. Don't you have enough vegetation there?

Me: Of course, we have lots. In fact, we eat lots of vegetables

Him: Then why do you all like meat so much? I do not believe that people here become a vegetarian because of religion

Me: It has nothing to do with religion. We like meat and that is why we eat them. It's as simple as that. No other reason. It's cos we love meat.

Him: No, no there's got to be reason.

Thank god, some other came to join us.
